January has never felt like a clean slate to me. It feels more like a pause.
After the pace and noise of the end of the year — both personally and in business — I always find myself craving less: less input, less pressure, less urgency to define what’s next before I’ve had a chance to feel it. The urgency and rush that can often come with January has never appealed to me or become ingrained within. I tend to start the year slow. This month’s moodboard reflects where I’m starting 2026 — from a quieter, more intentional place.
I’m drawn to things that feel grounding and familiar. Clothes I’ve worn a hundred times and still love. A strong accessory that anchors an outfit so I don’t have to overthink it. Neutral tones that mix easily and repeat well. Pieces that support real life, not a highlight reel.
There’s a rhythm here that mirrors how I want this year to unfold:
-
slow mornings and good coffee
-
getting dressed with intention, but without complication
-
building outfits (and a brand) round fewer, better decisions
-
choosing quality, longevity, and ease over constant newness
As a founder, January is often framed as a time to push forward, set bigger goals, and move faster. But I’ve learned that some of the most important clarity comes from restraint. From creating space. From letting things settle before deciding what deserves your energy. From starting the year from a place of rest, not burnout.
This moodboard is a reflection of that mindset. It’s about editing back to what feels essential, both in personal style and in the way I’m thinking about the brand direction. Accessories that quietly do the heavy lifting. Design choices that feel considered, not loud. A sense of calm and confidence in knowing what works and returning to it again and again.
I’m not interested in chasing noise this year. I’m interested in depth. In building something that feels grounded, intentional, and lasting—one thoughtful choice at a time.
January feels like the right place to begin.
